I was enrolled on the Foundation Course 210.
I completed modules 1 and 2, then Canvas went down.
I have gotten all the emails saying modules 3-9 have been released, but I am still not able to log in to Canvas to complete those modules, despite Canvas’s status page saying there has been no issues since 11th May and the system is fully working.
I am not able to see the “210” course on Hamtrains site either, I can only see the next course that is starting on June 7th
Is there anyway I can get back in to the course I already stated?
The online classroom Canvas, was hit by a major cyber attack on around the 7th of May, meaning the site has not been available. It looks like the site was up briefly for a few hours on Wednesday the 13th, but since then, it has been locked again with an announcement stating that “Teacher for free” logins are still suspended. Please see https://canvas.instructure.com/login/canvas to get updates.
As a small course provider, we have no control over this, and the only info we have is what has been published on their website
If you’re keen to continue studying whilst waiting for Canvas, you can use the free Youtube videos or the course book. See Foundation Online Playlist and Foundation Study Guide
Essex Ham has been scrambling to get an alternative site up-and-running on a new platform, and a paid version of the course is now available for those with an imminent exam. It is a work-in-progress, but see https://courses.essexham.co.uk/ for access to the paid course and more details on how to access course material on YouTube, printed book and eBook. There is also a discussion forum.
We’re as frustrated as you are that Canvas is down, and we are doing our best to get an alternative sorted.
Hopefully, that explains what’s happening and what your options are.
Best regards,
HamTrain
